Mastersound was formed in 1969, by Mal Jefferson, leader of the Mastersounds, a Merseybeat band who took over from The Beatles at the Cavern when they left in 1963.
The band headlined at the 1963 National Jazz Festival in London, playing with the Rolling Stones, the Graham Bond Organisation and Georgie Fame’s Blue Flames. They recorded for RCA Victor and had six No. 1 hits in Germany.
The company started as a small recording studio, recording local Artistes and later developed its own record label, music publishing and legal department, connected to all the leading music and copyright organisations.
Over the years, the client list grew to include central BBC contracts, regular production work for record labels and a number of national companies including British airlines. Our operational facilities also increased with duplication plants and additional studios in the North West.
Mastersound began national distribution in the 1990s and its products are sold at major U.K. High St stores, in prestigious catalogues and on the internet. Quality has always been the byword for our company and our record on this is second to none, and this is also the reason behind the company’s continued expansion and success. We do not tolerate second best.
Group sales at present exceed 25 million units. We currently offer full production facilities for film and DVD recording, editing and authoring with multi-track sound.
Our website has been active since the late 90s and was recently contracted out to Optimas Internet Solutions Ltd of Liverpool, who now manage a fully-functional modern eCommerce site. |
